Congratulations to Ben Legge and Ellie Jones who have been awarded the Frank Leech Memorial Trophies for the National Arena League 2012.

Training Alterations


Due to the junior swim camp on Sunday 19th Feb evening swimming will be 5-6pm for blue group only.

The following sessions have been cancelled due to gala commitments
 
Sunday 5th Feb 5-7pm
Sunday 4th March 5-7pm
Sunday 18th March 5-7pm

Sunday morning sessions on these dates will be as follow's:
8-9am Blue Group
9-10am Red Group


Green Group sessions will carry on as normal.

Fundraising

To help fund raising we have signed up to easyfundraising, this allows the club to generate much need fund's by members searching the web via there search engine, or using the site for online shopping.

All you need to do to is sign up as a member of easyfundraising and every time you purchase from their website, the club will get a donation from easyfundraising.

Competitive Squad (Black)
Our coaching programme provides structured sessions for children from the FUNdamental stage– (basic movement literacy) up to swimmers who have reached national standard.

Once involved in one of our competitive “squad swimming programmes” they will embraces the principles of the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) - principles that provide a clear ‘swimmer pathway’ to enable children and young people to progress to their full swimming potential.

LTAD is a sport’s development framework that is based on human growth and development.

Aims & Criteria Amount of time and training sessions available. Age Range. General Competition aims Progression

As with all our squads, swimmers will follow the principles of LTAD in line with their age and ability. During this stage swimmers will develop the skills and conditioning in line with their current ability to compete at county through to national level.

7 sessions

A minimum attendance level of at least 4 sessions per week.

Only university students, coaching staff and those in full-time employment will be exempt

Team galas
Club Championships

All members of this squad are expected to participate in regular open competitions (in events which are highlighted by the squad coach) and team galas when they are selected. Swimmers who join black squad must maintain a minimum of 4 sessions a week with a view to increasing the number of sessions.
 
Swimmers who move in to the Black squad but do not maintain the standard required maybe asked to return to the Red squad or to move to the Club Squad.
