Does waxing before racing make up for the lack of long racing suits banned from competition in line with FINA 2010 rule
changes?
The open men’s relay team from Alsager Bridgestone in South Cheshire certainly hoped so when they volunteered to participate
in a charity waxing session several days prior to the Cheshire Championships at the end of March!
It took Alsager Club members (supervised by Angela and Adele from “The Beauty Boutique” in Alsager) two hours to wax
and strip their Club Captain and his team, to raise funds for club equipment.

The swim clinic was run by Swim North West and Total Swimming, for any swimming clubs that had achieved swim 21.
The clinic was open to any club in the cheshire area, as a reward for becoming swim 21 Accredited, with two swimmers per club able to this clinic.
With a little bit of Gaz Magic (OK he works for Total Swimming), we managed to get 7 swimmers attending this event, these where:
Simon Corbishley, Aidan Morrey, Niamh Minton, Ellie Jones, Isabel Turnock, Ben Legge, Kitty Price.
They met a Chris Cook (Cookie Monster) who is double gold commonwealth champion (50m,100m Breaststroke) They had an inspiring presentation, 2 hour breastroke master class pool session and afterwards photos, goodie bags and autographs.
It was a great day! Everybody loved meeting Chris Cook, and all the kids have been touched and inspired by Chris to reach there goals.
A BIG thank you to Total Swimming and Swim North West for making it a great day.
